And the reason for this is because almost all holidays, this year, fall around a weekend, giving most workers at least a three-day holiday. Here is our guide to the UAE public holidays scheduled for 2017. Those working in the public sector can expect more days off than those in the private sector. All public holidays are paid, and may not count towards an employee’s annual leave. All dates marked with an asterix (*) are tentative and will only be final once confirmed by the UAE Government. RAMADAN, EID AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS IN MOROCCO 2017 Ramadan and Eid can have a considerable impact on travel in Morocco. Please take note of the projected dates. It is worth noting that the actual dates are defined by lunar sightings and are not confirmed until very late. Ramadan lasts for around a month. During this period, practicing Muslims in Morocco will be observing a fast between the hours of sunrise and sunset. In most circumstances this will have little impact on visitors. Food and drink are still readily available throughout the day. Some visitors have expressed feeling uncomfortable being served food particularly on trek by their cook when they know that the guide and cook aren't eating themselves. As a general rule, only fitter guides work during Ramadan and they want the work during this period. However if you are worried about this, then consider visiting outside the month of Ramadan.
